Ask Yourself These Questions Honestly
The questions below are adapted from internationally recognised problem-gambling
screening frameworks. They are not a clinical diagnostic tool, but if you answer
"yes" to several of them, it may be worth speaking with a professional.
1
Have you ever spent more money gambling than you originally planned to?
2
Have you gambled to escape worry, stress, boredom or emotional pain?
3
Have you felt the need to place bigger bets to feel the same level of excitement?
4
After losing money, have you felt driven to return quickly to win it back?
5
Have you argued with family, friends or a partner about your gambling?
6
Have you hidden the amount of time or money you spend gambling from people close to you?
7
Have you considered or attempted to stop gambling but found it difficult?
8
Has gambling ever caused you to miss work, neglect responsibilities or affect your health?
If two or more of the above apply to your current situation, please consider speaking
with one of the support organisations listed in the section below. Support is
confidential and does not require you to stop gambling immediately.
